No Notes Privacy Policy

No Notes does not sell personal data and contains no advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking. The product is designed so your note content is stored locally and in the GitHub repository you choose.
GitHub sign-in and synchronization
No Notes uses GitHub OAuth to connect your account. When you sign in or sync, GitHub receives the requests needed to authenticate you and access the repository you selected. Synced note content, pinned-note metadata, and file history are stored in that GitHub repository.
GitHub processes this information under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. No Notes does not receive your GitHub password.
Information stored on your device
No Notes stores a local working copy of notes, search data, sync metadata, the selected repository, preferences, and pending operations so the app can work locally and recover from an interrupted sync.
On Apple devices, the GitHub access token is stored in Keychain and downloaded notes are stored in the app container. On the web, the access token and account settings are stored in browser storage and notes are cached in IndexedDB.
The web authentication proxy
The web client uses a small same-origin proxy to exchange the temporary GitHub authorization code for an access token. The proxy forwards that exchange to GitHub and does not persist access tokens or note content. Normal repository operations are performed directly between the browser and GitHub.
Website and service logs
When you visit this website or use the web authentication route, hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request information such as IP address, request time, browser details, and requested URL to deliver and secure the service. No Notes does not use that information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or product analytics.
Permissions
No Notes requests GitHub repository and profile-read access for account setup and synchronization. It does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.
Removing your data
Explicitly signing out removes the local GitHub credential and downloaded No Notes data from that client. Deleting the app or clearing the website’s browser data also removes its local information, subject to operating-system or browser backups.
Signing out does not delete files stored on GitHub. You can remove remote notes, repository history, or the repository itself through GitHub.
Children’s privacy
No Notes is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
Changes to this policy
If No Notes’ data practices materially change, this page will be updated with a new effective date before the change applies.
